NASHVILLE, TN -FUNL Music has announced the June 8 release of Journey On, the newest CD project from best-selling, award-winning country artist Ty Herndon. The project, produced and written by Herndon, is the first release for FUNL Music, and includes a set of ten inspirational new songs featuring the singer's trademark vocals.  Journey On is already being heralded as the most personal project of his career, due in large part to the fact that the CD represents Herndon's first foray into songwriting. The songs on the project reflect the personal challenges and struggles Herndon has faced, as well as the promise of hope and new beginnings. He was joined by award-winning songwriters Joel Lindsay and Wayne Haun for several co-written songs, including "When We Fly," which is currently nominated for a 2010 Dove Award.  "The people who believed in me and my talent made me even more serious about writing this album," said Herndon. "There was so much I wanted to say to fit where I find myself spiritually and emotionally, and I wanted to sing about that. I can sing these songs with a strength and conviction I never knew I had because they are my songs, and that feeling is just awesome."
The title track for the project will also serve as the first radio single, which will be serviced to multiple formats including country, adult contemporary, Christian, and Gospel. Additionally, Herndon will begin touring in support of the project in June. "We are thrilled to partner with Ty on this inspirational project," said FUNL Music CEO Pam Browne. "Although Ty has no plans to slow down his career in country music, this project represents an opportunity to share his story of hope and personal renewal with a new audience, as well as his loyal fans." In addition to wrapping up production for Journey On, Herndon currently is preparing for a full slate of summer concert appearances. He also is co-writing with award-winning writer/producer Victoria Shaw (Lady Antebellum, Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood).
