CLEVELAND, OH 2010 -- WDOK 102.1 FM is pleased to announce the Jim Brickman Summer Musicfest on Saturday, August 7 at Classic Park in Eastlake, Ohio, home of the Lake County Captains Professional Baseball Club, the class A affiliate of the Cleveland Indians. The festival will feature Jim Brickman performing his hit songs alongside a diverse showcase of talented musicians including Michael Cavanaugh, the star of Billy Joel’s Broadway musical Movin’ Out, Country music superstar Collin Raye, Cleveland favorite vocalist Anne Cochran, award-winning Country musician Ty Herndon and the emcee at the Summer MusicFest is Robin Meade, the host of HLN Morning Express. These performers, as well as others, will deliver a day of the most memorable performances for music lovers traveling near and far. Hosted by Cleveland native Jim Brickman, this festival will include a musical celebration perfect for the whole family, including a kids zone with inflatable games and activities, great food and beverage offerings and a great atmosphere. Classic Park, a facility that has hosted several concerts in its eight-year history and is well-known for the intimate atmosphere guests experience during concert events. All kids ages 12 and under are free in general admission seating.

Whether you are a longtime fan of the performers, or if you are looking to discover new music, the Jim Brickman Summer Musicfest lineup is rich with pop, country, R&B, rock and oldies. There is no better way to wind down the summer months than by listening to great music, relaxing with family and friends, and ending the night with a spectacular fireworks show.

Brickman, a mutli-platinum selling, Grammy-nominated pianist and songwriter, was born and raised in Shaker Heights and studied music at the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music. Along the way, he has met some great friends in the industry and is thrilled to share the stage with them for one night only.

“Cleveland is home to great music from Rock-n-Roll, R&B, Jazz and Pop to a world-class orchestra, so the people here appreciate diversity in music. Some of the performers are originally from this area, and others just appreciate the musical history rooted in the city,” says Brickman.

Jim Brickman:
Since revolutionizing the sound of solo piano with his pop-style instrumentals and star studded vocal collaborations, Jim Brickman’s romantic piano sound has made him the best selling solo piano artist of our time. His signature style has brought him two Grammy nominations, six Gold and Platinum albums, 28 charted adult radio hits and many more industry recognitions. Other artistic endeavors include four PBS concert specials, two best-selling books and the host of a weekly radio show, Your Weekend with Jim Brickman. Michael Cavanaugh:
Michael Cavanaugh is most recognized for his role in the Broadway musical Movin’ Out where he was hand picked by Billy Joel. Appearing in the show for more than three years and over 1,200 performances, he was nominated for both a Grammy and a Tony Award. After the closing of Movin’ Out in 2005, he continues touring the country performing in concert and many corporate events including the PGA Tour, US Open and the Indy 500. In 2009, Cavanaugh made his Boston Pops Orchestra debut. When not on the road or recording, Cavanaugh resides in Las Vegas with his family.

Collin Raye:
One of the true hit-makers of country music, Collin Raye still continues to release soulful, heartfelt music with the honesty and richness that is signature to his vocals. Five times nominated as country music’s Male Vocalist of the Year, Raye has garnered five Platinum albums, 25 Top Ten hits, 15 No. 1 smashes and 12 chart-topping videos. Best known for his hits like “Love Me”, “In This Life” and Brickman’s chart-topping hit “The Gift,” Raye has consistently used his stardom to advance social causes. Among the organizations he has supported are Boys Town, First Steps, Al-Anon, Special Olympics and Country Cares About AIDS.

Anne Cochran:
Since 1995, Cochran has had the good fortune of performing on stages including Madison Square Garden, Carnegie Hall and The Q in Cleveland, plus watching her now-classic single “After All These Years” soar to the Top 5. She has happily shared the stage with the likes of Jim Brickman, Collin Raye, Donny Osmond, Dave Koz, Tracy Silverman, Jeff Timmons and Kristy Starling, Greek tenor Mario Frangoulis, Michael Feinstein, Broadway’s Mike Eldred, Wayne Brady, Michael Bolton and Linda Edder.

Ty Herndon:
In the ever-evolving world of country music, Ty Herndon continues to prove himself as a powerful musical force - as both a singer and a songwriter. Becoming a household name in 1995, he has sold millions of country albums, received a “Best New Artist Award” from the Country Radio Music Awards and three of his singles reached #1 on the Billboard charts. Robin Meade:
An Emmy-award winner and the familiar face every weekday morning on HLN’s morning news show, Morning Express with Robin Meade, Meade has covered the world’s leading news stories including President Barack Obama’s 2009 Inauguration, Michael Jackson’s memorial and the face of HLN’s “Salute The Troops” segment. Meade is also a New York Times bestseller for her 2009 book release "Morning Sunshine! How to Radiate Confidence and Feel It, Too”. Her life long love of music and singing has led to live performances with Kenny Chesney, Richard Marx, David Foster and Billy Dean among others.

Classic Park is located at the corner of Vine Street and Route 91, just off of Route 2, in Eastlake, only 15 minutes from downtown Cleveland.
